2/18/02 - Technical Paper on Optimization of Four-Stroke Exhaust System to be Presented at SAE Congress Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, February 18, 2002 - OPTIMUM Power Technology will present a technical paper entitled 'Optimization of Exhaust Pipe Tuning on a Four-Stroke Engine Using Simulation' at this year's SAE World Congress. Paper No. 2001-01-0002 will be presented as part of the Modeling of SI Engines session in Room D0-01A at 9.30am on Monday March 4th 2002. The paper details an optimization process (patent-pending) that is incorporated within the VIRTUAL ENGINES software products produced by OPTIMUM. A real-world application is demonstrated, complete with engine test results for validation of simulation predictions. Significant improvements in engine performance are achieved, via simulation, within a few hours.
