10/10/04 - With RAETECH, OPTIMUM's Automated Design and Network Supercomputer software continues its success in Motorsport.

Lexington, Ohio (Sept. 24, 2004) - David Finch, of Ann Arbor, Mich., took his sixth National Championship Friday, taking the GT-2 class win at the 2004 SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.   Driving the No. 66 Porsche 944, Finch started from the pole and led flag-to-flag for his first National Championship since 2000. During the race Finch set a new fast race lap record of 1:29.082 (91.251 mph).

Kevin Kwiatkowski (from Raetech) commented:"OPTIMUM's Automated Design and Network supercomputer enabled us to simultaneously dial in our cam parameters with induction and exhaust configuration. The performance of the best simulated configuration was astonishingly echoed on the dyno, and this confidence in our simulations coupled to the speed of the system, played a major role in winning the National Championship this season".

David Finch (CEO -Raetech) said: "Raetech credits OPTIMUM's Automated Design software coupled with ANSYS CFD and Structural analysis software for the success of our recent engine improvements.Raetech developed a 'ground up design'induction and fuel injection system featuring BOSCH electronics, new optimized cams, pistons and other internal features. All components worked in complete harmony as predicted. We won the first race and it required only eight weeks from design correlation with our original cams to the completion of our final configuration for the National Championship."
