1/17/01 - Virtual 4-Stroke® Formula SAE Academic Program

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, January 17, 2001 - OPTIMUM Power Technology recognizes that students are the engineers of the future. By offering reduced cost software to universities, OPTIMUM affords these students access to world-class engine simulation software.

Under OPTIMUM's Formula SAE Academic Program, 'Virtual 4-Stroke' will be made available for $1000 to any University FSAE teams (compared to the full commercial license fee of $18,000). OPTIMUM has developed 'Virtual 4-Stroke' engine simulation software based on original work by Professor Gordon Blair of The Queen's University of Belfast.

To ensure that the software is used effectively, at least one person from the FSAE team must attend a 'Virtual 4-Stroke' training course. Courses are held monthly at OPTIMUM's Pittsburgh facility.

OPTIMUM's January training session included attendees from Texas A&M, Northwestern, Drexel and Husquvarna.
