1/10/03 - Toyota Racing Development commits to OPTIMUM Power Technology's Automated Design Expert System and Network Supercomputer

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, January 10, 2003 - Pete Spence from TRD (Toyota Racing development) commented:
"We have used the Automated Design Expert system from OPTIMUM Power Technology for 3 months. In our extreme, fast paced environment, having the best, fastest, and most effective software design tools is essential to our success on race day.

The parallel implementation of the OPTIMUM Network Supercomputer means that we can use eight of our existing PC's, creating a very powerful computing environment without needing extra computing hardware. This CPU network means we can iterate through many alternative engine designs quickly. The automatic optimization methods are powerful, and coupled with the rapid throughput of the parallel system means we can quickly identify improved designs. The accuracy of the cycle simulation code gives us the confidence to use these new software tools to direct our hardware development. This, in turn, gives us the ability to save money on engine hardware and better prioritize our dyno testing.

There is no doubt that the Automated Design Expert System has helped us create better engines faster than ever before, contributing to our success on the track and on the road."
